Merry Grinchmas???

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store? What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more?

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.  No matter how you celebrate the season, may the spirit of Christmas be with you and your families now and for the coming new year.

Here's one of my favorite xmas songs, enjoy!

11 sleeps...

do you remember when you were a kid and you counted down to Christmas with sleeps, those were the days where it was much simpler.  Well xmas sure sneaks up on you fast, it's next week!!  Am I the only one going over all the those mental lists in my head making sure I've got everything done?  I feel like I'm in good shape, presents are all bought, just need to wrap them.  Got supplies for the day (that could be bought ahead of time), the rest will have to be closer to the day.  No matter what stage your at, don't panic, you'll get there trust me :)  Relax and enjoy!

Wanted to repost some LO's, finally had a sunny day so I was able to get better pics of them.

and here's a couple of new one's.

Thanks for looking :)

Got the bug again

scrapping bug that is. Lost the mojo for a couple of weeks, but it's back in full force this weekend.  Completed a some challenges for a few of my haunts, The Scrappers Outlet, Birds of a Feather and Scrapping Outback.  Please excuse the shocking photo's of some of the LO's, it's rained all weekend and taking pics inside just don't look as good.

Thanksgiving - more than an American tradition

When I lived in the USA, one of the holidays I loved the most was Thanksgiving.  Sure it's on a bizarre day, the 4th Thursday of November, but it has so much going for it.

It's all about spending time with your family and reflecting on what we have to be thankful for in our lives.  The other upsides are a rocking turkey dinner with all the trimmings and the next day is Black Friday, the best shopping day of the year!

Even though we don't celebrate the holiday in Australia, I still like to think about what I am thankful for.  The list is as long as my arm and starts always with my darling husband Russell and our large and loving family.

Whatever your doing on Thursday, whether it's eating turkey or going to work, have a great day and take a moment to count your blessings.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Jenelle

Today's post is brought to you by the letter A.....

as in ADSL!!  So happy that ADSL was finally available in our area, because I have to tell you that wireless broadband sucked big time.  The cost was horrific, I'm now paying the same price but have 33 times more usage available.  Still not as good as $39.95 for unlimited usage, but I don't live in the US anymore but still happy Telstra got on board!

Just sharing some more loveliness.  I am surprised that I was able to get away with the flowers on a boy LO, really think it works.

Tried quilling for the first time to satisfy a challenge at The Scrappers Outlet.  Bit fiddley, but like how it looks.

Thanks for looking!

Trying to make up for lost time

well at least that's how it feels because I've been scrapping like crazy.  All the supplies are unpacked and I have found homes for most items.  Here's a couple more I knocked out today.

The sad face on the first LO is all about how bad he wants a dog.  If it wasn't for the fact I would get in huge trouble with my SIL, he'd be getting a puppy for xmas this year.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!  I've been participating in a cyber crop this weekend at The Scrappers Outlet.  Here's what I created for the challenges.

I've been working on some other stuff as well.  "Road Trip" was from a Pencil Lines sketch.  Have I told you before how much I LOVE sketches LOL.  Sweet Little One was just for me.  I've noticed I've been using a lot of flowers when I can get away with them, this one looks like I am trying out for the Prima DT LOL.

Still working on my personal challenge of using up my stash, there is plenty of old stuff on everything shown above.  Made a few Christmas cards over the weekend, I guess I need to take some pics so I can share them also.

Thanks for looking!

It's kind of girly...

but I will give it a go for a while, of course I'm talking about my new blog design.  Let me know what you think!

Insert chicken sounds here....

So no one wants to join the challenge hey??? Well to be honest I don't get much blog traffic anymore since I dropped off the scene for like 18 months. It's all good. Plodding on.

While unpacking I noticed I have quite a lot of stamps, many that have never been used, so I 'm going to push myself to use them more often also. Got some Maya Road stamps dirty on this one. Really love the colours!

Did this for a colour challenge over at The Scrappers Outlet. The colour palette was pink, brown and white and for some reason it took me ages to pull it together, but I'm happy with the end results.

Thanks for looking :)

Whose going to join me????

I'm still going with the use my old stuff up challenge. Jules is going to join me, whose next??? I feel like a scrapbook supplies collector more than an actually scrapper some days LOL. Using up the old to bring in the new.

Love this one, how cute does cruz look in a tutu LOL :) The ribbon is about 4 years old, still got more to use up.

Banners seem really big right now, I don't think I pulled it off, but at least I used some rubon's that I've had for at least 2 years.

This one is from a Creative Scrappers sketch. The acrylic stars are at least 3 years old, got a sneaky feeling they are older than that :)

So whose next?? Join me in my quest to use up my old supplies!!!!

I'm challenging myself

to use my old supplies. I've decided that I am going to attempt to use at least one item on every LO that I have had in my supplies for over 2 years. Honestly some of my stuff I've had since I started scrapping 10 years ago.

This one I completed for a recipe (did I spell that right? looks wrong) challenge over at The Scrappers Outlet. For my personal challenge, it was the lace, had it for ages and still have more :)

Used a sketch from Creative Scrappers for this one, dragged out the Heidi Swapp flower and the ribbon for my personal challenge.

Did this one just for me, everthing on the pages is at least a year old, no new stuff on here.

BTW how cute are all my nephews!

Getting the hang of it....

It's like riding a bike, it all comes back slowly. Tackled a couple of more LO's this weekend. Used sketch's from Creative Scrappers for both, #'s 119 & 120. Went with the orange and chocolate colour scheme for the 2nd one as for the Chocoholic's Anonymous Challenge at The Scrappers Outlet. Chocolate, Orange and White were the challenge colours, wasn't sure I could pull off the brown and orange, but I think it works. Scan's not the best because I had a lot of bulky stuff on the LO, but it's rained all day today so a photo wasn't going to look that great also.

She scraps at last :)

Hi everybody, it's been wayyyyy too long.

Things are finally settling down in our lives. Russell joined my in Australia after six months apart, we've been through all the immigration stuff and Russ been working now for about 4 months. We've moved into our own place and I now have a scrapbook room again. It's been wonderful being home and reconnecting with the family and I know it was all worth the drama and expense of moving.

Even though I haven't scrapped for 18 months, didn't stop me from purchasing supplies the whole time LOL. When I was unpacking my scrap supplies I started to fell a little guilty about how much I had and joked that I could probably wallpaper several rooms with all the paper I have, but then realized you can never really have enough paper ;).

Forgot to mention I used a pencil lines sketch for this one, after not scrapping for so long I though a few sketches would kick start the old creativity flowing again.
